I didnt take care of my teeth in middle school and got cavities. In my early twenties, I bleached my teeth, replaced my stained fillings and got resin infiltration on my white spots. Most of these were near the gumline, but I also have a little bonding on my bottom front tooth to hide a chip. I want to get Invisalign to fix a slightly crooked front tooth and gap, but I heard attachments will fall off if you already have composite on your teeth. Is this true?
I am a 35 year old considering Invisalign. I have 1 baby tooth that has NO adult tooth underneath. and it has a filling in it (originally amalgam then changed to composite). I am concerned orthodontics may cause the tooth to fall out either through the force and movement of the teeth or from root resorption. I read resorption naturally occurs in baby teeth & that minor root resorption is common in orthodontics. What is the general likelihood that Invisalign will cause me to lose this baby tooth?
I tried to move my teeth before (with smile direct not Invisalign) and my front two teeth got infected (the dentist said it was because the fillings were too close to the nerve). I had a terrible experience and Id rather that not happen again but I want to fix my crowded teeth.
Ive always had crooked teeth especially my Front tops, now wanting to straighten them and I am eligible, but I have fillings in every tooth in my Front top teeth (in between each tooth) will these pop them out? Would it be more hassle to straighten them after I got all this work done?
Hi , my dentist told me that I need filling in 3 tooth. But the problem is that I have to get Invisalign after that. Now I am confused if the tooth filling will create problem between Invisalign treatment or not. Can I have filling after the Invisalign treatment or is it necessary to fill first?
I am 3 months into my invisalign treatment and I have recently experienced some minor sensitivity to temperature and sugar in a top molar (#15). I had my 6 month checkup with my regular dentist and he recommended filling the tooth. When I asked if this could interfere with my invisalign treatment, he would only say it shouldn't, but I am still concerned. Do I have a legitimate concern? Should I contact my orthodontist before getting the filling? Thank you.
I recently visited a dentist and it turns out I have 5 cavities that need filling. I intend to address this problem sooner rather than later, so waiting till after my invisalign treatment ends in November is out of the question. I've read that the fillings will result in the trays not fitting properly so will my teeth be rescanned and new trays be made? And how long is this likely to take? I'm worried that my teeth will shift back since I won't have trays that will fit while I wait for new ones.
I don't like the gap between two front teeth. Invisalign didn't fix it and nightly retainer doesn't. I think filing at the bottom of two front teeth would allow the Invisalign retainer to push them in more and remove gap. Would filing help the look of my two front teeth?
My 10th tray and from now on has a space for my left lateral incisor. Eventually there will be a space for the right lat. incisor as well. My treatment doesn't come with a pontic tooth although there is space for one in the tray. Now the space just fills with saliva. My ortho. suggested perfect-a-smile aligner coloring, but its more than i'd like to spend. He said some patients use nail polish, but I don't think that is safe to have in my mouth for 22hrs a day. Any other cheap but safe options?
