I had a full face lift, neck lift and upper and lower blepharoplasty 90 days ago. A lot of the swelling has gone away, I am starting to have feeling back on the sides of the face (although the edges and top of my head are still very numb). I am very concerned with the eye bags that I now have. These were not there before, but now, they get worse as the day goes by. Is this due to swelling still? Or do I now have festoon or malar bags?
I have malar edema/malar bags and mild midface aging. Most surgeons I've seen offer a subperiosteal mid-facelift. One surgeon has offered a preperiosteal mid-facelift along with tightening the obicularis oculi muscle and closing the anterior wall of the malar edema. I can't find any scientific studies that suggest a preperiosteal MFL for malar bags. Would this procedure be as effective as a subperiosteal MFL?
What are the ways to treat malar festoons. Lower blepharoplasty performed without addressing malar festoons. Would midface lift help? Other suggestions. Are there surgeons that specialize in malar festoon correction, and if yes, would you have any suggestions for southern Wisconsin, Chicago area?
If so why would this Happen? I have hollowing under my eyes and indentations in my malar cheek area that was not there before my deep plane facelift. My nasal folds are still sagging. I look older than I did before the surgery. What are my options for correcting this unfortunate result. Thank you
So Ive posted on here before and was told the issues with my under eye/upper cheek area were likely malar bags/festoons. However as suggested I had an appointment with an ophthalmologist who says the issue was related to the suborbicularis oculi fat (SOOF) and mentioned the possibility of a SOOF lift but ultimately recommended that I didnt do anything. However its still something that bothers me personally and would like to know what options were available to me. Thanks.
Im 35 and have had these bags since I was a little girl. Im thin and have also been a runner. I take good care of my skin, dont have allergies, watch my salt, get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water. Ive tried laser, PRP, filler which made it worse, and termitight. Are there any success stories treating these? I saw a procedure where a doctor cauterized the malar bangs the did laser to smooth the area? Is this a viable option for me?
I have developed malar bags and mid face sagging. I am 44 years old. I have tried fillers and botox but they make my cheeks heavier and I would prefer something more permanent. I am also being treated for a chronic sinus infection, deviated septum, and enlarged turbinates so I know I need to have these addressed first. Would I benefit from a mid face or cheek lift for a fresher appearance? Thank you for any advice
Female, 23. Had double jaw surgery in 2014. It left me with saggy malar fat pads that bulge out. I had no signs of this before surgery. Do these circumstances make me a candidate for a facelift? I think that most surgeons would suggest fillers or implants, but I don't desire fuller cheeks. I just want the tissue where it was before. I know I'm a bit hollow up top but it would take a ridiculous amount of filler to taper it. I have a long face and worry that too much filler will look freaky...
I had a facelift with coral cheek implants 3 months ago. I immediately developed malar edemas on both cheeks. They go away when I lie down sleeping but come back in the morning when i get up, no doubt due to gravity. Is this permanent or will they resolve in time? Can anyone please advise what I may do to make them go away.
