Hi I'm 38, my teeth are in good condition however I broke a canine 12 years ago due to grinding. I was advised at the time to leave it but it has become painful. I'm currently undergoing root canal but my dentist is ensure he will be able to complete it as there is calcification, he applied something to try and wear this away and am due a follow up. If I lose the tooth what is the best option for replacement? And what option can be implemented while pregnant?
My number 6 is missing. I don't have enough bone for #6 implant. My ortho wants to move #5 into site #6, and then do an implant for #5. What are the risks of this? I want to have a beautiful symmetric smile. Since my canines will not be symmetric, wouldn't my smile be ugly? Please advise.. very concerned.
As you can see in the picture. I was given canine substitution. My smile has been completely destroyed by extractions. My lateral incisors were removed along with other teeth in order to give me braces and create this narrow smile. I am really disappointed in the results from my orthodontic treatment. I feel like my facial structure potential has been completely destroyed. I am now left with no cheekbones and an overall very flat facial profile. Is it still possible to expand my dental arch?
I got an implant and bone graft on my left canine tooth area 12 days ago. My stitches are not absorbable. If I get my stitches removed on day 14, will I be able to eat normally/ drink alcohol within 24 hours? Or would that area still have to heal? I have a big event coming up and I want to know if it would be better to leave the stitches in (and eat and drink) or take them out (and eat and drink).
I had a canine tooth coming in too high in my gums when I was about 13. Instead of having it fixed, the dentist specialist extracted it. I eventually got a dental implants years later, but the damage had already been done. I have gum recession around that area and my smile overall looks really asymmetrical. It seems the gum that was suppose to support my canine moved back to my first molar. Is there any hope for me to regain a symmetrical smile?
I have been told that at least my two front teeth needs root canals done due to the angle they are at to each other and it's impossible to clean so they have a large cavity. My teeth on each side of the front are also misaligned and damaged. My canines stick out further than the others and makes my whole smile look horrible. I was told braces weren't an option without surgery to correct my lower jaw. How can I fix my front 6 teeth without spending thousands.
when i was 11, my canine tooth did'nt come out due to the temporary teeth aligned to it. and afterwards, my 2nd premolars extracted because of the cavities and next to it was the 1st molar too. is it possible to replace my 2 premolars by molars?
Office one said they would take a few months to open up space for an implant($$$), have the implant done, then few months of braces, surgery, then braces again for a total of 2 years to finish up. Office two said an implant is not necessary, and what they would be doing is aligning the teeth so that top 1st premolar meets bottom canine, 2nd premolar hits bottom 1st premolar and so on. It would take less time to align, surgery, then more braces to align, total of ~15 months. Other costs equal.
I saw an implantologist re replacing a missing canine tooth with an implant...unfortunately there is not a lot of space as my teeth have moved forward. Originally I was advised I would need braces to open the gap. However this implantologist suggested shaving the teeth either side in order to make space. The reason I did not want a bridge was because I did not want my healthy teeth filed down. Is shaving them the same thing? Will it weaken my teeth?
