I had an extraction today and the dentist put in a graft so that at some point I can get an implant. He did not use stitches and I was wondering if that is normal? He did not explain how I am to care for this and it seems like all the pictures Ive seen show this with stitches. Should I go back in or is this normal
I got a tooth extracted and bone graft on Thursday and the stitches fell out in entirety on Saturday. Im not bleeding, but I see the bone graft. It is hard because my dentist isnt back in until Monday. Am I safe? Tried to get pictures, these were the best I could get with my phone.
I had extractions done on teeth #2 & #3 with bone graft and membrane. Followed up 2 weeks post op and one stitch was removed, but said the remaining stitches were still holding in the membrane and would be removed in an additional 4 weeks if they had not fallen out sooner. Is there any benefit to keeping the membrane and stitches in for over 3 weeks post op? There's no pain or infection, gums feel good, but the stitches are quite irritating and continually aggravate the cheek.
He apparently put more stuff in than normal. My gums are still swollen and have minor throbbing pain in them every time something touches the area. And one end of a stitch is detached and it hurts even more when it's touched. Brushing is painful. I have taken all my antibiotics. I don't know what's up or if i'm freaking out over nothing. Thank
I had my 2 roots surgically removed 2 weeks ago and bone graft in preparation for implants, the stitches were then removed 4 days ago and my gums look open. One of them has a soft white thing protruding out and the other just looks open to the elements so not sure if this is normal. Does this look normal? Please see photo.
Canine tooth #11 never came in when I was young, so now that I'm older, I had bone graft put in to build bone for implant. It has been 1 week post surgery and my nose feels swollen. I feel like Dr. put in too much bone and the way he stitched the gumline makes me unable to move my upper lip and my nose looks weird. Is that normal? should I give it more time to heal. It feels really awkward. I called his office and they said he puts in more bone than necessary because it will go down with time.
Last Tuesday I got #2 and #20 extracted and bone grafts as well. Successful procedure. My stitches came out about 5-6 days later. I'm no longer in pain except for the gum on the inner side of #1. It feels kinda loose and flabby if that makes sense. It hurts because the swelling is making it go past that tooth so when I bite subconsciously it hurts. Is swelling next to the extracted tooth normal or is something wrong?
