My surgeon somehow lost a titnium screw inside my jaw/neck when placing a chin implant. It slipped and went into th muscle and he could not find it to remove it. He says that it should be fine and not cause problems. Is this correct? Or is this serious?
I am 54 male with a large Implatech face lengthening implant . I have had it for 8 years . I have never liked it. Its still tight and too square. A surgeon I visited said he can removed it and replace it with a smaller button type implant. My concern was that the small implant will move around inside the large pocket . He said he uses stitches to secure it to the internal tissue to hold it in place . I have never heard of this . Can this work or are titanium screw the only option ?
Ive had two consultations about getting a chin implant. One doctor said they use a screw to secure the implant to stop it from moving, while the other said it wasnt necessary: that the pocket would fit to the implant perfectly and that it wouldnt move. What are your thoughts on this? Is there a consensus or is it just down to personal preference of the doctor? Many thanks!
Six years ago I had a medpor chin implant placed. I recently had 3 of the 4 screws securing it removed because I had a verified allergy to the titanium screws. My surgeon was unable to remove the 4th screw as it was too vascularized to even be seen during the operation. He's recommending I see a DDS to have the implant and screw removed. Do I need to see a DDS, or is another MD okay?
Hello Doctors, I had a silicone chin implant on March 2017 secured with titanium screws. On March 2018, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's after months of constant fatigue. I was wondering if titanium screws or silicone implants could be the cause of my disease? Thank you in advance.
i got a porex chin implant around one year ago, but i need more projection in my chin. is it possible to add another chin implant on top of the already existing one? i have one titanium bolt in the middle of the implant holding it in place. also, i had my nose done around 2 years ago and it is still not what i want, however i do notice it changing still and improving slowly. is there anything i can do to speed up the process? i know that it hasnt stopped changing yet, just need it to speed up.
