I understand that silicone chin implants have a capsule that forms around them (that makes them easier to remove). If you remove the implant, what happens to the capsule? Does it gradually dissolve? Just collapse and lie flat? Fill with scar tissue?
Hi, I had a chin implant place October 2021. I had it removed Feb 2022. After removal, I was left with a HUGE chin area, and think it's due to a great deal of scar tissue. Steroid injections gave me fat atrophy. Is there another way to get rid of the scar tissue? Could it be cut out surgically? Could I also do saline injections where the fat atrophy is? Would advanced imaging show the scar tissue and the amount of fat atrophy? How do I fix both?
Medpor chin implant placed submentally 4 years ago. Localized swelling/soreness just under the incision site since implant was placed. The past couple months the swelling has become more consistent. Swelling/soreness is localized when it occurs and feels like a dull ache/tightness which is aggravated by moving lower lips. Consulted with surgeon who placed the implant, surgeon said it's 'normal' and 'just scar tissue.' Does this sound consistent with normal scar tissue be
So i am planning to get my chin implant removed as it was too big. The doctor said even when he takes it out there will be a scar capsule there so it will not look like I had taken it out. I had medpor in for 7 months. I want to go back to my preop look. How long will the capsule take to resorb?
I had a chin implant placed intraorally almost a year ago. I ended up looking like I was 10 years older bc of some scar tissue. The oral surgeon that placed my implant placed filler in that scar tissue which helped but it still looks odd and I have an indentation above that area. I feel like it's too large and like my lower lip is being pushed inward aging me more. I am interested in removing my implant but am hesitant to have him do it. I'm afraid of complications that could arise after removal
I just had a chin implant yesterday. I don't know if its the way its taped or whats going on but there is a large dent on the right side that seems to be getting larger. I am getting very nervous. I like the way the left side looks but I'm worried the scar tissue and stuff from my acne causing a problem on the right side. I was told my all the doctors i consulted with that it would make my acne scars look better because it would stretch the skin. Is this just swelling?

After surgery 1 yr ago, I had a hematoma on each cheek. Gone now. Doc said lines on left cheek are due to scar tissue that he will remove during revision surgery. Chin is very sore & redder than pre-surgery; it feels like a weight. Mouth is puckered. By end of day, it's difficult to enunciate. Have tugging sensation below ears & some tingling continues along jaw line up to ears. Also have Pixie Ears & Tragus is missing. Could facelift have been too tight? My doc says no. Advice is appreciated!
I got my small size extended an. silicone chin implant removed, 6months ago via submental incision. Implant stayed in only 2days removed due to not liking at all, so there was nocapsule formed. My chin is still wider and bigger than before which i think because of internal scar tissue. Chin feels squashy, looks puffy.I started massage gently since second of removal. I read that deep tissue massage need more pressure to be sucessfull is that true? Or does it stop tissues from sticking to bone?
I dont think pockets shrink back to bone. I had a small 5mm silicone chin implant which stayed in only 2days! Removed due to not liking at all. Its been 10 weeks and my chin still huge and super wide like if the implant is still in. I had no time for any capsule formation. So why is it so wide and projected to forward? Which i hate. What is the reason? Is pocket fill with scar tissue? Is scar tissue become a soft tissue with time? So that area always be wider and bulky? What can i do to stop it?
