I had a chin implant swapped out for a larger one a few months ago and my lower lip shrunk significantly. I did not have fillers within 6 months of surgery but I have previously had a v to the y plasty to augment my lips. I know the bigger implant can cause the lip to look smaller relatively but as you can see the difference is there even when I edit out my chin. It is very noticeable and distressing. I dont like thin lips, has the incision in my mouth reversed the augmentation I had?
Hi, I am a 18 year old female thinking about getting a chin implant. My chin is recessed and small which I want to fix. I also have a deep shadow under my bottom lip. Will a chin implant reduce the shadow? If not, what procedure can fix it?
In 2013 got a medpore chin implant which looked. to big for my face so a couple of weeks later I asked my surgeon to remove it but he insisted just cut the sides to make it look smaller. after, I kept the implant for 6 more months and finally got it removed. So I got chin ptosis which treated with botox until the last 2 years where botox is not working any more, my lower lip is loose and shrink in the middle, I am not able to close my mouth with having to make a big effort. I need help
10 weeks post chin implant, insertion via inside of mouth. Still slightly numb on my bottom lip, and 1 side is lazier than the other when talking/smiling. The implant obstructs biting into things, and food gets stuck in the elevated groove created inside my mouth. I feel like its placed high on my chin (we wanted it to improve my profile, not elongate my face) Is it possible my mental nerve is being squished/damaged? What are my options if so? My own doctor has told me to be patient.
My chin isn't horribly recessed or anything, in fact it more or less lines up with my bottom lip...but I'd like to add some protrusion with minimal vertical height increase. In the end, I'm looking for the lower third of my face to appear more masculine. Can a sliding genioplasty add protrusion without narrowing the chin at all? I've read many stories of chin implants eroding the bone over time.
My top front teeth rest on the inside of a deep labiomental fold. This bothered me. 4 days ago....I had a custom chin implant put in with the intent to reduce the labiomental fold and create more room for my top front teeth. Now I understand its new, and not even close to a final result (swelling etc), but my bottom lip has actually been pulled BACK creating LESS room for my teeth and actually making it hard to talk without my top front teeth getting in the way of my bottom lip. Thoughts?
The surgeon used screws to anchor them. I keep waiting for the feeling to come back near my mouth. But there are two spots--one on my lower lip and one on my upper--that are still very numb. They tingle often, and sometimes my speech is encumbered by lack of lip dexterity because I'm numb. It's been over a year. Is this normal? Do I have nerve damage? Will it get better? Sometimes it seems to be getting worse! What should I do?
When relaxed, my lower lip is quite far apart from my top lip. I'd like to have a chin implant as I feel it would have a positive impact on my overall profile as well as (hopefully) pushing my bottom lip up. Would a chin implant change my lip problem? If not, what other surgery would you recommend so that the two lips touch?
I had chin implants 7 days ago through intraoral and most of the swelling is gone. My concern is, my lips looks weired and smaller than before. When I talk long, I feel muscle cramps on my chin and needs to stretch my neck for a bit. It also feels very stiff when talking. I cant smile properly as I look like a goat conpared before. Im worried the implant is too higbor is this normal?
