My skin barrier is compromised after years of microneedling and poor aftercare (smoking), along with Retinol use. I've always had oily skin but now it's both extremely dry after washing (even using gentle face washes) but producing oil at a ridiculous rate, causing breakouts, inflammation etc. My question is, I'd like to undergo treatments (a medium peel or Infini RF) to help some of the scarring, pigmentation and general texture issues - is this a bad idea on a damaged moisture barrier?
Hi, I have a question about the patch on the cheek in the pics. I went to a derm, they took one quick look and said rosacea. I explained to them this spot had acne before, which I picked pretty often and I also caused a self inflicted chemical burn from tea tree 4 years ago which I tried to heal but my belief is thats why theres still excessive pigment redness. Its been like this the same way for 4-5 years its definitely not like any rosacea or acne scarring Ive ever seen.
i have some scars and acne and the last time i did a chemical peel was 3 months ago. i live in canada and the winter just started so im wondering is it safe to do a chemical right now or should i wait?? because i dont want my skin to get dry and damaged...
At first I thought I had razor bumps since my keratosis pilaris always acts up a few days after shaving. Also I have some on my cheeks but not as much as my thighs. I know there isn't a cure but suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I am looking for a cosmetic procedure that will improve the texture and indented scarring on my cheeks. When wearing makeup it is very noticeable (see pictures). I am considering microneedling, laser treatment, or a chemical peel but I am not sure which would be best. Any input is greatly appreciated!
I have old self harm scars from a time where I was depressed. It happened only 2 times and I vowed never to do it again. The scars themselves are somewhat long but not raised. They are thin cuts so they mostly look like scratch marks, with the exception of two that are brownish in color. I would really like to get rid of these scars, thank you.
I've heard conflicting things regarding using Hydrocortisone cream after Medium to Deep chemical peels. (I use 1% strength) My Dr said Hydrocortisone right away after chemical peels can help prevent scarring & hyperpigmentation and that you should use it 2-3 x a day immediately after the peel for 3-7 days. But I read that Hydrocortisone actually inhibits proper healing from occuring and that the inflammation after the peel is actually good & needed for maximum results. I'm so confused! Help!
