A month ago, I had severe acne (hormonal & stress) and most were located on my forehead. I went to an aesthetician to extract the acne and developed these really dark spots (hyperpigmentation - Asian skin) on my forehead. I tried to cover it up with makeup but did not do well since I broke out from it as well, thus, causing more spots on my face. It is causing me to be self conscious and stressing me even more. Is chemical peel a good treatment for my skin? Your advise is greatly appreciated.
A day ago I got a light chemical peel and acne extraction done at my dermatologist office. My Skin is really sensitive and i have scarfs. I would like to know if it save to wash the face with Salicylic Acid 2%. I have very oily skin and I'm brown skinned. What products are the most convenient to spend up the healing process. Currently i'm using aloe Vera on my skin at bedtime since to its too sensitive. When i can start using acne medication and makeup again i scared to put anything strong?
Is there a point to getting a steam bath or a steam facial before a chemical peel? Maybe even the day or night before or maybe the same day so as to help slough off the dead skin as well as pure things from inside the pores to get the peel to penetrate more? Or, is there no actual science to this? Will it help at all? Is this good before facial extractions as well? Will it help soften blackheads and dead skin to be removed?
I used to have moderate acne, which cleared up a few years ago. Only stubborn whiteheads remain now, which I'd like to get extracted. Consulted a dermatologist nearby, and he said he won't do the extractions before some sessions of glycolic peels or laser. But according to one of the answers given by Dr. Mary Lupo here on realself, chemical peels and lasers are very bad for closed comedones. This has left me very confused. Is this man just trying to scam me for more money?
I recently had a facial including extractions, product and a fruit enzyme peel and I believe something with lactic acid. It's been two weeks and my skin is still broken out in a rash and itchy. I normally have very dry skin but after my morning routine the glow mistakes people for oily and it's not. What have I done wrong and how do I proceed?
So I had clogged pokes my dermatologist did extractions then chemical peel which was on for less than 4 minutes and now my chin area where I have acne looks like this. Is this normal, will it go away, or am I going to scar???? It's only been 24 hours
