I had a lower face lift, brow lift and neck lift 12 weeks ago. My scalp is still numb except at the staples site. The staple wounds were healing but now 11 weeks later, there is renewed pain, inflammation and increased hair loss. Is this normal? Sides of my face & front of neck remain numb, but I am most concerned about the staple site pain and hair loss. Also, top of scalp itching is becoming unmanageable.
I suffer from a numb scalp and severe itching of the scalp from this procedure. It has been one year and a month since this was done. Is there any hope that I will ever get the feeling back?
I have been using Atarax and clobetasol. I do not want to take neurontin because of the side effects. I use a lot of mind over matter and that works well most of the time. I get small 1-2 mm lumps that are exquisitly tender and burn. I wonder if I have some ingrown hairs/trauma from scratching? My biggest concern is, will this ever go away??? I can live with it knowing it will. But the idea it wont get better frightens me a lot. Surgeon wants to refer me to a neurologist which scared me.
My doctor did a small prednisone taper (24,20,16,8 4mg) last week. The first two days i had relief and as soon as I tapered down it all cmae back. My question is: would a more significant prednisone taper perhaps help? Or would it just mask symptoms while on it then come Right back ? My feeling was given how severe this is i possibly need a more significant prednisone taper rather do a seven day treatment than start chronic neurontin with its many side Effects Any experience with this?
Dr. opened my forehead, did not do the lift. He told me he severed 2 nerves. It has now been 8 months, I have sores all over my scalp, had to shave my head to apply topical meds, and am on Neurontin, 300 my 3 times per day. Would laser treatments help? What about steroid injections into the scalp. I am getting suicidal. This is going to last for the rest of my life. It is getting worse, not better.
