Hello, I had a significant breast reduction and revision in 2015, went from a H to a C which resulted in some bad scarring, loss of nipple sensation and quite a bit of fat necrosis in my right breast. (Doctor confirmed it was fat necrosis by multiple ultrasounds) I am looking to get the fat necrosis removed and perhaps a scar revision. What the procedure process would be on getting the fat necrosis removed since it is large in size and will OHIP cover some of the cost? Thanks in advance!
I had a breast reduction done back in december and am pleased with the results other than one of my breasts is still open at the inverse T. It is still draining and bleeds fairly easily. I have been using bactroban cream on the site for several weeks. My PS believes it may be fat necrosis. Just curious how long these types of things could take to heal, and if there are any other options to try and get the wound to heal quicker. It is healing but EVER so slowly!
Hello, I had a breast lift at 30 years old in 2005: only a lift/ no implants and no breast tissue removal. Here we are 16 years later and I am scheduled for a breast reduction and lift. My surgeon from 2005 has retired and my records were destroyed in 2014. My new surgeon indicates that he will need to be conservative in his approach without know which blood vessels were tampered with. And could increase chance of nipple necrosis. Please advise of things to consider in my situation. TYVM
Will a breast reduction still result in saggy large breasts because of the lower nipple position (from where he would normally place it, by 25%) ? A very skilled surgeon said higher risk of necrosis if he would place nipples where he would normally. Not to expect round or firm breast. Not discussed yet, but no nipples? Would that mean firm, round cup size B or C? I might rather have no nipples, but firm smaller breasts. Instead of surgery from cup H to saggy cup DD.
I had my surgery on 3/7. Necrosis set in and I had burn like wounds on my breast. The left was far worst and I almos lost my nipple. The wound on the outside took so long to heal that a second surgery was done. Fat necrosis was in the breast and very firm. Now my left breast is larger then the right. In the right the side is still very tender and I cant bring my arms together in front because its feels funny and cant lie on my sides. Could my experience been prevented and will I need revision
I had a breast reduction 6 years ago, with would healing complications. I have multiple large lumps, about the size of a golf ball, in my right breast. They are uncomfortable and sometimes feel like they move, but have not improved in the 6 years since my surgery. Is it normal for this to not get better? And should I look into having them removed?
I'm coming up to 4 weeks post op and have had the the following hard line on my right side boob from the start. Yesterday my right arm started throbbing / aching like it felt strained. It started off only when I moved it, but then it just throbbed. I've woken up today and it's not only when I move it. But it's made me concerned about this hard line again. The nurse said it sounded like fat necrosis, but I'm wondering whether it's the edge of the mesh? Any thoughts?
Im about 3 weeks post op, breast reduction and lift from a 38G to around a C/D, and I just wanted to make sure everything looks normal. Ive been putting a triple antibiotic ointment on the incision areas and setting a gauze pad on top under my bra (thats the weird square marks). My surgeon and I have talked about the possible necrosis on the left areola and he says everything else is looking normal Im just paranoid and wanting to double check.
My surgeon didnt refer to it by name but I have now researched enough to realize what it is. I had a couple of questions... 1) How long does it take to heal? 2) Could it have been avoided by using implants for symmetry rather than a breast reduction on one breast? Could it have been avoided in general with a different surgeon? I hadnt smoked or drank in more than 2 weeks... 3) Can I get in pools this summer at all or beaches? 4) Can I drink at all?
I had a breast reduction 7 weeks ago and have a hard mass above areola about the size of a walnut. Every review I read, says to use heat and massage and it will liquify and drain. How often should I use heat and massage? And will it be able to drain if all my incisions are healed?
