I have my surgery for a breast augmentation in 9 days.I have three children and they have all gotten sick in the last few days running low fevers . I have been taking zinc and vitamin C but other then that I don't know what I can do. Not the end of the world but I want to be able to do anything and everything to make sure I have no fever or anything that would delay my surgery date that is set in nine days. Please help !!
I am 8 days out from surgery and have ceased all medication and most supplements outside of vitamin c and zinc that I was told would be safe. My allergies have come on full swing this weekend and I'm trying to do everything possible to keep it at bay. Will elderberry syrup be safe to take? I can't seem to find any negative interactions it could cause. Also, will seasonal allergies prevent me from getting surgery?
Sorry. To clarify I was taking magnesium supplements. Not magnesium citrate. Is this harmful? I take the daily dosage which is 400 mg, but I can limit it to only 200 mg instead. I haven't read anywhere online that taking magnesium before surgery is bad and it's not on the list of medications I should avoid (except magnesium salicylate) which is not at all what I'm taking. My surgery is Thursday. My anesthesiologist is calling me tomorrow and I will let him know. Still should I discontinue this?
Scheduled for primary BA in a few weeks. I read that these supplements may actually cause capsular contracture? I can't find reference to this anywhere but on the website of a single plastic surgeon, so I'm willing to bet that it's theoretical, not clinically validated. Either way, I'm very concerned, as I've been dependent on all 3 (plus collagen powder) for arthritis for years. My own PS doesn't object & even cleared my use of them right up to surgery but I'd like to hear from other docs too.
