i shared with my surgeon my experience with shooting pain, which happens occasionally about once a day and it lasts for few seconds but very painful and self limiting. my surgeon suggested i go to office to get a xylocaine injection to help with the pain. i consulted a second ps for a 2nd opinion, he suggested waiting on the injection, and he suggested an anti-inflammatory motrin and robaxin- muscle relaxer and to wait a little. i'm lost and depressed and not sure what to do. please advice.
I havent felt any pain at all and the little pain Ive had Id just take one ibuprofen pill per day. I am not big on pills and believe that if theyre not necessary I shouldnt take them, but Im wondering if by not taking the muscle relaxant pill will it affect me bad during my recovery?
My skin and hair is already naturally oily but ever since by breast aug it's been a lot more than usual. I'll literally wake up every morning and the first thing I see is my nose shining! Could it be the medications I was taking? I was taking pain killers (hydrocodone), antibiotics (cephalexin), and muscle relaxers (forgot name). I just stopped using them about 2 days ago and I'm 8 days post op.
I am postop day 4 after having subpectoral breast implants. I went from 34A to 350cc high profile silicone. I am still in a large amount of pain. I stopped taking narcotic pain meds on day 2. Now I am currently taking Tylenol and a muscle relaxer. I did not have much body fat in my breasts, mainly muscle, from extensive exercise/weightlifting so thought maybe this is why I am having a large amount of pain. I was wondering when the pain usually starts to get better?
I am 1 week post op, got my sutures removed today and got the OK to start massages for about a minute twice a day. Anyway, here's my questions: Can you massage too much? My doc said massage twice a day. Can I massage more, like 4-5x if I have time? Or will that cause problems? Also, when is the best time to massage? I know the MA said 'something' about the shower and after I take ibuprofen or muscle relaxers, but it was a lot to take in for me. Thank you for your answers and time!
I am 3 weeks post op. One of my implants is dropping slower than the other, which I know is normal. I also know that it could take several months for them to drop. However, I recently read that in addition to displacement exercises, and bands, some PS have kept their patients on muscle relaxers to aide in the dissension of the implant. Does it really help? I've stopped taking mine about two weeks ago because I didn't need them anymore, so I thought.
