i was wondering what is causing the textural irregularities on my cheeks. i've never had major/cystic acne in this area but sometimes i get blackheads/clogged pores/etc(?) which contain stringy pus when squeezed. I've tried differin xp, retin-a, aha, bha, 1 session of morpheus 8 + prp, and 1 session of electrodessication and all seem to have little effect. (electrodessication might have helped a little i can't really tell). Is this sebaceous hyperplasia and if so would accutane work?
I have been on 20 mg of accutane for just over a week, for sebaceous hyperplasia. I was just told, it is not sebaceous hyperplasia, but in fact scars. Do I still have to wait 6 months for laser resurfacing, since I have been on it such a short time? I am very thankful for your time!
I have been diagnosed with moderate sebaceous hyperplasia . I am 58 years old and have in the past experienced post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Because of this my doctor has prescribed accutane rather than smooth beam laser. I have IBS C so am concerned about potential bowel and liver risks associated with accutane. Should I just live with the bothersome bumps on my face ( I do use retina a to try to keep my condition from getting worse)?
I watched a video about the new studies regarding skin treatment during an accutane course. Would it be OK to have an electrocautery or rf (skin classic, con med) on small sebaceous hyperplasia, enlarged oil gland and follicular macular atrophy spots on the chest while on accutane? And finally, what about a linear scar revision (excision and restitch) for a small raised scar (oval shape size of a raisin)? If so, what dose is safe?
I am 33 years old and have been on isotretinion for 3 years for sebaceous hyperplasia 30-40mg a week. It works reasonably well for the rest of my face however my nose appears to be getting a little worse with a bumpy euneven surface. Is it likely I could suffer from rhinophyma when older?
I have been trying to control with cauterization ( scars left) and the only thing that has helped was pulse therapy of Accutane ( 40 mg 1x a week) but the came back. ( this was twenty years back). Now , in my fifties, it's getting worse. Becoming disfigured and very depressed.
