Hi there! Ive had subtype 1 rosacea primarily with constant erythema to one cheek more than the others and constant flushing. My dermatologist recommended accutane. Will this help my redness, flushing and mild swelling (to my one cheek/ that flushes)? Thanks so much!!
My dermatologist recently suggested Accutane for my rosacea (flushing and lesions). I can't take antibiotics, they give me significant GI issues. Have tried topicals. My question is whether the acne will come back after I stop the Accutane. She suggested a very low dose for a year, and I know that the overall dose that is given is most important in terms of whether acne comes back. My acne is not that severe, but unfortunately it is getting worse slowly and I don't have many other options.
I've been on accutane for 5 months, and I'm about to start my 6th month. My face has been really red and I'm not sure if this is rosacea or a side effect from the medicine. I know that flushing is a common side effect but my dermatologist hasn't been able to tell me wether it is rosacea or a side effect.Im just looking for help because this is the only thing left from my accutane experience that I'm self conscious about. I appreciate the help.
I am at the end of my fourth month of Claravis (80 mg/day) and will be starting my fifth and final month in about four days. My face is normally pink, and I flush very easily. It is very noticeable, as my neck is essentially a completely different color from my face at this point (I am fair skinned). I have read online that for many, the pinkness/redness does not go away. How valid is this? I would hate for my face to be rosy from now on. Any help would be great. Thanks.
I am wondering if any dermatologists recommend a time of day for Accutane (if you are only taking one pill per day)? I read that some people have better experience taking it at night for less flushing in the day. Others say it works better if it is in the day. Figured I would ask a professional. Thanks.
I recently finished accutane around mid-February with amazing results, but the only downfall of it was the flushing. Everytime I flush my entire face turns red, hot and maybe a bit of sweating. I only flush when I'm nervous, bending over, eating spicy food or doing exercise. Most of the time my complexion is normal. Is the flushing ever going to go away? or it's the beginning of rosacea?
