What happens to the mentalis after chin shortening/burring?

Hi, I am considering a chin reduction, but I was wondering: what happens to the mentalis if a part of the bone it's always been draped over is suddenly reduced or removed? How can it function the way it did? Are there any risks involved?

This answer requires a very detailed examination, however, it is possible theoretically that you could benefit from Buccal Fat Removal or Botox injections to the Masseter.

2 years since bone reduction on chin. Let with a staph infection and fibrosis. Tissues on the left is a asymmetrical. Options?

Providing that your chin mass is entirely fibrous, scar tissue, it can be treated with injection of corticosteroid (Kenalog) until it is significantly reduced. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended.
