What is a crackling sound in my neck?

I heard a brief crackle in my neck last night. What could if be? I'm 3 1/2 weeks post neck lift surgery.

Thanks for you question.  Performing many neck lifts, this is an unusual issue and one I have not heard before.  At 3 1/2 weeks post op, the soft tissue is well healed and most of the acute swelling has dissipated   Likely it is just skeletal like when you turn your head and hear your neck crack.  If anything looks or feels different i would recommend you visit with your surgeon.

Hello Kimberly, "crackling" is a unique complaint, one not heard very often, and simply requires a good physical exam to identify the cause. It doesn't sound like you're in too much distress. I suggest returning to your surgeon for an exam. Good luck.

usually mean there is some air that is in the tissue that pops when the skin is pushed on.  This should resolve without any intervention but if you're having any concerns or appreciate any other changes, you should see your surgeon for an exam and explanation of what could be happening.
