Longterm filler problems include migration, edema, and nodularity. Filler migration and permanence is a very common problem because there are many different types of HA fillers on the market and each is specified for a specific part of the face. Use of highly cohesive fillers on thin skin may cause swelling and nodularity. If patients have filler migration or nodules, we recommend a combination approach of filler reversal with enzymes Hylenex and Hyaluronidase in different strengths to dissolve the filler. We may also need to add Kenalog to the mix in order to reduce fibrous tissue. If the filler does not dissolve, it either means the filler is not HA material or we need more enzyme. The HA reversal can be combined with other lasers and skin treatments at the same time, and it usually (usually) does not affect adjacent tissue. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Hello R,Not normal for filler to lump, too much was placed in the area. It will not spread over time, though it should come down some over time depending on the filler that was used, hopefully not a permanent filler. Non-permanent fillers can be dissolved. If you are bothered by the appearance then I would recommend having the filler dissolved. Would also recommend choosing an expert physician injector with artistic vision. Good luck and be wellMichael Persky, MDEncino, CA
Based on posted photos best to inject dissolving solutions asap since no spreading will occur. Best to see the medical injector you used or seen expert MD to fix you
No, it is not normal for the filler to lump up. You should go and see your treating physician as soon as possible and have them take care of this before it becomes a greater problem. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery.
Hi @Courageous736320! I recommend another round of Hyaluronidase. Always seek treatments from expert injectors who have the skill and experience to precisely inject fillers into treatment areas and avoid risks and complications. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Hi @Megahollytron! The top lip looks a bit overfilled. This is a personal choice if you want to keep them or dissolve the product with Hylenex and start with a fresh canvas. Best of luck to you!
