I am thinking of having an areola reduction surgery but I am not sure about it. My areolas are 2 inches in diameter when my nipples are soft. They look ok when my nipples are hard and shrink 1/2 inch. It is very common that they return to their starting size? I don’t want to be left with scars and no long term improvement. My areolas stretched out after I used a noogleberry device so they were not naturally this big if it makes a difference in a likelihood that they will stretch back out?
Answer: Areolae The skin of the areolae is the most stretchy of the breast skin, and many do stretch again after a reduction, especially if implants are added at the same time. Implants stretch breast tissue.

Answer: Areolas stretch back after reduction surgery The extent to which areolas may stretch back after reduction surgery can vary depending on several factors, including the surgical technique used, individual healing characteristics, and post-operative care. However, in general, areola reduction surgery aims to achieve long-lasting results, and significant stretching back of the areolas is relatively uncommon. Here are some factors that can influence the likelihood of areola stretching back after reduction surgery: Surgical Technique: A skilled plastic surgeon will use techniques designed to minimize the risk of areola stretching after reduction surgery. These techniques may involve removing excess areolar tissue and supporting the remaining tissue to maintain the desired size and shape. Tissue Elasticity: The elasticity of the skin and tissue surrounding the areolas can influence how well the areolas maintain their reduced size and shape over time. Factors such as age, genetics, and skin quality can affect tissue elasticity. Post-Operative Care: Following the surgeon's post-operative instructions is essential for optimal healing and long-term results. This may include wearing compression garments, avoiding activities that could strain the surgical area, and practicing good wound care to promote proper healing. Weight Fluctuations: Significant changes in weight following areola reduction surgery can potentially affect the size and shape of the breasts and areolas. Maintaining a stable weight after surgery can help minimize the risk of areola stretching due to weight fluctuations. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Pregnancy and breastfeeding can cause changes in breast size and shape, including the areolas. While areola reduction surgery can be performed before or after pregnancy, it's essential to discuss the timing of surgery with your surgeon if you plan to have children in the future. While some minor stretching or changes in the areolas' appearance may occur over time, significant stretching back after reduction surgery is relatively rare, especially when performed by a skilled and experienced plastic surgeon. Additionally, if any concerns arise after surgery, your surgeon can assess the situation and recommend appropriate measures to address them. Regular follow-up appointments with your surgeon can help monitor the long-term results of the surgery and address any potential issues that may arise.

Answer: Areola reduction Dear Sincere920766, in some cases, it is possible for areolas to stretch after reduction surgery. Some of the possible causes include poor skin quality and increased tension after reduction. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Areola stretch It is possible for the areola to stretch again after reduction surgery, however this is usually influenced by other things. Tension on the incisions can cause the areola to enlarge, such as when implants are placed. Time and loss of skin elasticity can influence the areola size, as can weight gain. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.
