I have a lump in my chin after having radiesse injected there. It does not feel extremely hard but I can feel it and in certain lights I can see it. I can only assume this is a build up of too much product injected there? Should I massage this or leave it longer to see if it goes down? I know you will recommend going back to my injector but I really didn't like her so any help you could give me would be great. Also how should radiesse feel after this long?
Answer: Recommend massaging area twice daily with Plato's Scar Serum Radiesse is an FDA-Approved filler that we use very frequently in our office to sculpt the contours of the face. Since we are a national center of excellence for filler reversal, we also encounter patients from other doctors' offices who wish to have Radiesse fillers removed for one reason or another. In our office, we employ a directed technique to visualize the filler material, if possible on ultrasound, and then use non-surgical methods to dissolve the filler or granuloma tissue using intralesional injections. There are many methods using a combination of enzymes, intralesional modulators of scar tissue, and Kenalog to help reduce volume and remaining filler. These techniques require meticulous attention to detail and can be performed at intervals of two to three weeks to achieve longterm effect. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Radiesse Lump In Chin -- subcision, 5fu/steroid, fractional laser or RF This requires injections with 5fu/steroids to break apart of the scar/granuloma/radiesse nodule. Sometimes fractional laser or radiofrequency can help. subcision may be an alternative. I suggest speaking to a well trained cosmetic physician who specializes in filler injections. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Radiesse Lumps Fortunately, the lump that you are highlighting is not so obvious to the naked eye even though I'm sure you can easily feel it and know that its not right. These lumps happen from either not smoothing the radiesse after injecting it in the deep subcutaneous area or even beneath the muscle or because the practitioner injected it into the dermis which is very superficial and only a few millimeters in depth. You can't massage the dermal injection of radiesse like you can if it were properly placed in the fatty area. Fortunately, these small lumps will gradually resolve over the following 6-12 months. Make sure that the practitioner who injected you knows about this. They should be more careful about these injections. Unlike the Juvederm products which are all Hyaluronic Acid, radiesse cannot be reversed. And again, fortunately, from a visual standpoint, this little 'lump' is hardly noticeable and again should slowly go away over several months. You'll be fine. Hopefully, the rest of it went well. Answer: A lump after Radiesse should be massaged and possibly broken up using saline/lidocaine mixture I have had success using saline, a large needle, and some lidocaine directly into the area of concern. Try massaging as well.
