1) Ive seen reviews here of patients who has implants that are about to sag downwards. Is it because its not done under muscle? its worrisome and i would rather stick to bbl but i dont have enough fat 2) I run and lift heavy daily - will it harm my implants if theyre big like 690cc and cause sagging since there's no support? its the same with breast implants - i always use support when i run and jump but im worried about what will happen with butt implants if im very active
Answer: Butt implant? It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal butt image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your buttock will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. Liposuction of your lower back and fat transfer is also helpful as an adjunct to implants. Using “want to be” photos however are useful if simply provided to the surgeon.

Answer: Will butt implants sag over time? Dear Beabea, Thanks for submitting your picture and sorry for your disappointment with BBL. This procedure is a waste of your time and money, because the fat disappears completely or almost completely after few months or sometimes even sooner. I have seen it on many patients who came to my surgery center for butt implants surgery, after their big disappointment from the procedure that was done by other surgeons. Think about it logically. If the procedure would have been consistent and reliable , most women would have preferred it for breasts augmentation over breasts implants. The reality is that the number one cosmetic surgery in the US is breasts augmentation with implants... FAT INJECTION DOES NOT WORK! As far as the placement location of the implants, with all due respect, I disagree with the previous comments. I place all my implants under the Glutal muscles fascia. This technique was created by Dr Jose Abel dela Penja, who is a board certified plastic surgeon and professor of anatomy at the University of Mexico in Mexico city. I had the privilege of spending time with him at his practice. This technique, allows for placement of large implants (my biggest so far, but quite common, 660 cc) under the strong fascia of the Gluteal muscles. This technique is more anatomical than the intra muscular techinque and allows for much larger size implants with creation of a nice 'S' curve. It is less painful, recovery is faster and there are less complications. I stitch the implants to the fascia, I wrap the butts with Velcro binder for support and avoid patients from physical activity (including sex) for 6 weeks. This stabilizes the implants and allows for the formation of strong supporting capsule. I have been doing the surgery for over 16 years and have done butt implants surgery on well over 500 patient. I had only 2-3 patients who complained about the saggy implants, but that was in my early days, before placing the implants high above the crease (4-5 cm) and suturing the implants to the fascia. Satisfaction rate is very high, as you can read in the 'Realself 'reviews section. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Will butt implants sag? Indeed properly placed buttock implants within or under the gluteus maximus muscle should be stable over a long period of time. However, implants that are placed on top of the muscle are sure to sag over time (ocassionally as soon as within a year or two). Glad go help.

Answer: Implants for buttocks I prefer to place them within the muscle. They often sit a bit high initially and then come down with time. Best of luck.

Answer: Buttock Implants Intramuscular buttock implants will not sag with time due to the tight pocket. It is buttocks implants place above the muscle that can potentially drop or sag with time.
