How long will it take to see liposuction results after tummy tuck and flank liposuction surgery?

Question

I'm 1 month post op from a tummy tuck & flank lipo surgery. I thought I was very clear with my surgeon about what I wanted. My hips are "bumpy"-they naturally bump out then have an indent at my waist where my underwear and pants hit then bump out again. The surgery seems to have accentuated that instead of repair it. At my 1 month appt he seemed nervous when I pointed this out but claims he did the liposuction and it will get better. Should I get a 2nd opinion or wait? Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your question. It is very important to remember that it will take some time before you start to notice results. One month out of surgery is still very early. At a month out from such an extensive surgery it would be best to allow your results more time to mature.  You are likely experiencing significant swelling of your tissues that will mask your long-term results.  Some patients do not see final outcomes for 6-12 months after surgery, although most swelling resolves over the first 2-3 months.  I know waiting is difficult, but allow your results more time to mature and continue to voice any concerns to your surgeon.  They ultimately want you to be happy and will work with you to ensure this.
