Fraxel Restore over upper eyelid w/eye protector?

I do this everyday in my practice and use eyeshields, yes its safe if don't by someone experienced.  Dr. Emer.

Fraxel Restore can definitely be performed on
the upper eyelids so long as the proper precautions are taken. Sterile metal
eye shields must be placed into the eye, and settings must be adjusted to the
appropriate levels. In the state of California, only licensed physicians and
registered nurses may perform Fraxel treatment.

Keep in mind that while Fraxel Restore will provide
an overall improvement in the texture and tone of the eyelids, it will not
necessarily provide tightening. If your concern is laxity, you may want to look
into the ablative version of the Fraxel laser, the CO2 Repair, or even
radiofrequency treatment such as Thermage. An in-person assessment will help to
determine what treatment route may be best for your specific concerns.

Treatment of the delicate eye-area should only
be performed by physicians with an abundance of experience. Take your time in
your research; go to several consultations if you need to in order to find a

It is safe, and it is effective to undertake Fraxel Restore ( or other forms of fractional laser) on the upper eyelids. A smaller applicator can be used for this area.
