Absolutely! There is no reason not to treat the yeast infection. The anti-fungal should not hurt your recovery.
Yes, it is perfectly fine to take medication for a yeast infection. Yeast infection can occur due to antibiotic use which can allow yeast to overgrow any bacteria. Dr. ES
Dear Emikathoss, Most all plastic surgeons prescribe antibiotics through your intravenous line before surgery, and that is the most important dose you can receive. Although the practice is widespread to prescribe oral antibiotics for several days after surgery, it is debatable whether that is necessary or practical. It is certain that a percentage of patients will have die off of the normally good, well-balanced bacteria in the digestive system and allow the yeast there to overgrow. This can also affect the vagina causing a yeast infection there. It is important also to look in your throat to make sure there is not a white overgrowth there called thrush which is also a yeast infection. It is certainly safe to take a Diflucan tablet and usually a single pill does the trick nine days after surgery. Certainly, you should stop your antibiotics unless you are treating an active infection. If you are simply taking it for prevention, they should be stopped. Finally, for women who are susceptible to yeast infections, it is a good idea to take probiotics that can be obtained from any grocery store to prevent this from occurring. I hope this has been helpful to you. Robert D. Wilcox, M.D.
Of course. If you think you are getting a yeast infection then you should be on something to prevent implant infection. Anytime you take an anti-fungal medication you should be under the close supervision of a physician to check your liver which can be harmed by this class of medications.
can happen if you are susceptible to this following use of antibiotics. But its always better to let your surgeon know and get a prescription from him/her as one pill is much easier then the other methods of treating a yeast infection.
Prophylactic antibiotics following breast augmentation can cause concomitant yeast infections. Treatment is safe and effective. I recommend that you inform your plastic surgeon.
It is not uncommon to get a yeast infection from the antibiotics taken during surgery. A medication like Diflucan can clear this up. Discuss with your plastic surgeon.
Yeast infections can occur after having taken antibiotics for any reason. After a surgical procedure a yeast infection can occur because of the administration of antibiotics. It is common and safe to administer an anti-fungal medication as treatment. Please discuss this with your doctor. Thanks for the question.
Hello and thank you for your question. Yes, it is safe to take yeast infection medication 9 days post-op. For some people, taking antibiotics for an extended period of time will initiate a yeast infection. My advise would be to contact your plastic surgeon and notify them of this and ask that they prescribe something to treat this. Because it is a common reaction following surgery and antibiotic treatment the office should be able to prescribe something. I hope this helps you and good luck. Hi HS can affect any tissue that contains a certain type of sweat gland, called apocrine gland. Some people are unlucky to get HS under the breast in the inframammary fold. If your HS is restricted to the armpit and it has been treated with no current contamination with bacteria, then...
This really depends on your pre-surgery measurements, including height, weight, breast width, breast height and the distance that exists between the nipple and breast fold, alongside desired cup size. Considering these helps achieve a proportional body enhancement that meets your needs...
