Hair loss started when I was 19 and now I am 22, should I start taking Finasteride. (photo)

You can see my condition in the photo. Six months ago, I went to a doctor, who is not hair specialist, to treat my hair loss and he said " u r not balding, just try to reduce ur stress". Things won't get bad like right now if he was right. One thing to note is that when I was 19, I mentioned him I suffered sever depression. Now I am taking minoxil 5% and biotin for 4 months but things are getting worse. Do u think I should start taking finast?

In my opinion you need an in-person consultation. A hair loss expert will review your history, do a magnified exam, trichoscopy as well as possibly a biopsy and blood work. That’s certainly not accurate that Propecia aide effects are gone in a month. Not at all. Side effects can take many months to resolve. 4-7 months is not uncommon. We don’t really know the incidence of persistent problems and persistent dysfunction. One study suggested it could be as high as 1...

The most common side effect of Finasteride is decreased libido. Still not common, maybe 2%, but it scares many patients. There is a lot written about "post Finasteride syndrome" but as clinicians we rarely see it. If it looms large in one's mind, there is an alternative in Minoxidil tablets. See...
