I had my 23 year-old saline (over the muscle) breast implants explanted last month, but left the capsules. My implants were intact; there was no capsular contraction; and the capsules were thin. Just wondering if an ionic bath would help with the absorption of the capsules.

Answer: Capsules You will need a total capsulectomy for the capsules to be removed. They do not dissolve. Ionic footbaths are effective in removing hydrophilic chemicals and heavy metals but most chemicals that come through the silicone shell from silicone implants are hydrophobic (ie Methyl ethyl ketone which depletes arginine and nitric oxide causes Raynaud's syndrome) so the electrolysis footbath is needed for hydrophobic chemicals. Most plastic surgeons are not educated in detoxification methods (that is functional medicine) but I am boarded in integrative holistic medicine as well as plastic surgery so look up the information I have that is on the internet re this subject.
