One breast swollen and bruised 2 weeks post op Breast Reduction. Any suggestions?

I am 2 weeks post op breast reduction surgery. My left breast seems to be healing beautifully and minimal pain. My right breast however, seems to be swollen (not significantly bigger than other breast) and started bruising lightly after a week. I went to my surgeons office for a follow up just yesterday and she said everything looked good and no sign of infection. Is swelling and bruising in one breast normal?

Bottom line, you are going to need to ask your surgeon. If both procedures are done at once, you are going to save on some surgery costs, but prices vary from state to state and surgeon to surgeon. I would suggest that schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area...

It is almost impossible to predict cup size based on volume removed. Furthermore, cup size is not a good barometer as it can vary greatly between bra manufactures. Focus more on your desired look. And speak with your surgeon. He or she has seen you in person and knows your case best -- Dr. Nazarian

I would advise you to make an appointment to see your surgeon to determine whether or not you are, in fact, suffering from fat necrosis. Then, together, you can come up with a treatment plan. So sorry to hear that you are in pain. Best, Dr. Nazarian
