Hello I am currently 5'6" 196 lbs medium build. I wear a 34G (34 I in U.S. Size) I've been approved for a breast reduction by my insurance company with the requirement of them removing a min. Of 500cc per breast. My question is, roughly how many cc would need to be removed to take me down to a DD or DDD from my current G?
Answer: Impossible to say It is almost impossible to predict cup size based on volume removed. Furthermore, cup size is not a good barometer as it can vary greatly between bra manufactures. Focus more on your desired look. And speak with your surgeon. He or she has seen you in person and knows your case best -- Dr. Nazarian

Answer: #BreastReductionBycc's This all depends on your breast measurements. Typically it is the weight in grams rather than the volume in cc's that insurance companies look at for approval. Some breasts are denser than others and weigh more for the same number of cc's

Answer: Roughly how many cc would need to be removed to take me down to a DD or DDD from my current G? Thank you for the question and congratulations on your decision to proceed with breast reduction surgery; this operation tends to be one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform. There is no direct correlation between the amount of tissue removed and the ultimate cup size that a patient will wear after breast reduction surgery. Before undergoing the breast reduction procedure it will be very important to communicate your size goals with your surgeon (who you should choose very carefully). Most patients wish to achieve enough of a reduction to help with their symptoms while remaining proportionate with the remainder of their torso. With the goal of improving communication with my patients I find the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or DD cup” means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Best wishes with your breast reduction procedure; hopefully you will be very pleased with the outcome of the procedure performed.

Answer: Breast reduction It is difficult to predict the cup size from the actual volume removed. Best of luck with your decision to move forward. The exam would help guesstimate your volume.

Answer: Grams I would think you would at least need to remove 500 grams to bring you down that much. You should have your surgeon if you meet the criteria also. He should know.
