I had a liposuction in my abdomen back in 2014, and I still have all over my tummy what appears to be lumps. I thought it will go away with time but it's been 8 years and still there. Is there some kind of treatment to get rid of it?
Answer: Abdomen You did not post photos, so I suggest meet with a board certified plastic surgeon, be examined, and discuss your options. You might even need skin tightening or even fat transfers or Sculptra injections.

Answer: Options Producing consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe it. The Number of plastic surgeons who can competently perform quality liposuction consistently is in a minority. Liposuction is a permanent an irreversible procedure. Collecting poorly done Liposuction is very difficult and should only be done by those who can do the primary procedure well in the first place. Treatment options include revision liposuction(removing more fat to try to improve the outcome), fat transfer or converting the procedure to a skin tightening operation like a full tummy tuck. To give any useful information we need to at least see before and after pictures. If you’re interested in trying to improve the outcome you’ll need to have in person consultations with other plastic surgeons who are more skilled at the procedure than your previous provider. I suggest consulting with multiple local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community. You can browse individual providers websites to see if any of them seem to have a particular interest in Liposuction or have an impressive number of before and after pictures in comparison to other procedures. During in person consultations to ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures or at least as many as they are willing to. asked to see as many pictures as possible of people with similar body characteristics to your own. For revision work is going to be difficult to find someone with large collections of before and after pictures but you want to see what their primary liposuction work looks like before considering having them do revision work on you. Ask providers to show you examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and less than outcomes. An experience provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of common procedures like abdominal liposuction. If adding fat or fat transfer is one of the options then you’ll need to make sure that the provider is proficient at that operation as well. Often replacing previously removed fat from Liposuction is not successful and may require multiple operations. The greatest variable for successful restoration of poorly done liposuction is based on how much fat was removed from the first procedure. If the first doctor was very aggressive then improving the outcome becomes more difficult. Consider re-posting with before and after pictures or consult with local plastic surgeons in your community. For complicated or unique cases I highly recommend avoiding virtual consultations. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
