I live in new york and was planning on getting a rhinoplasty this month (january) but im starting to think that that maybe the cold weather will either affect the outcome or delay the healing process.
Answer: Is winter a good time to get rhinoplasty? Winter is a reasonable time to consider rhinoplasty.Find a board certified plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of rhinoplasties and rhinoplasty revisions each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Answer: Cold weather, or even warm weather will not change how you heal from a rhinoplasty What's most important for timing in rhinoplasty is, of course finding the right surgeon. Make sure they are a specialist in rhinoplasty and that it comprises a majority of your doctor's practice. As for timing, the nose heals at the same rate regardless of outside temperature. Timing is more related to when you can take a week and a half off of work or school. Plus my patients are instructed not to work out for 3 weeks or get sun for 6 weeks. You can be outside in the sun but need to wear sunblock and a hat. So, pick the time based on what works best for your scheule.

Answer: Winter is a Great Time for A Rhinoplasty Winter is a great time of have a rhinoplasty. I believe the cold air can actually help with the swelling much like ice-packs can help with swelling. It is also easier to stay inside and recover in the winter when compared to the summer. The nose is sensitive to the sunlight 6 months to a year after surgery. For this reason, a winter rhinoplasty will limit the sun exposure during your recovery.
