Thank you for your question. If the pain has been going on for a while or you have noticed a change in the shape of the breast, it is best to have it evaluated to make sure nothing is going on.
Thank you for sharing your question. I would definitely recommend seeing either your plastic surgeon or ob/gyn to address this new onset discomfort to your breast. Without an in-person examination it is difficult to offer treatment advice. Though it may be related to your implant - capsular contracture for example - it could also be a pulled muscle or rib irritation. Hope this helps.
If the pain is persisting beyond a week or two and it's not getting better, you should certainly check in with your primary doctor or your plastic surgeon if you are having pain in the implant area. Implants can break (or leak), capsular contracture may develop, and other problems are possible, and work up may be needed.
I would recommend that you contact the surgeon that originally did your surgery to have a look at it to make sure there is nothing going on.
Hi Sarahleenoel and thank you for your question. It is always wise for patients who are experiencing pain or discomfort following a breast augmentation present for an in person evaluation by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. There are many things that can cause pain in this region, the most benign being some sort of muscular strain, but for any discomfort that is persistent and unresponsive to over the counter medications should be worked up by a doctor. Considering your implants are 11 years old, I would suggest following up with your plastic surgeon for an evaluation. I hope that this helps and best of luck.

Thank you for your pictures and questions. It is impossible to diagnose cap con based on a photo without an exam. While it could be possible, it is very doubtful that you have developed this problem by three months. If you are concerned about asymmetry at this point, I would suggest you see your...
Dear sherryberry2,breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to s...
Hello,I am concerned you are experiencing the beginnings of implant extrusion, a bacteria-based problem that will not go away by restitching the incision. The fact that your doctor did re-stitch it makes me concerned about his competence. If he is not an ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeon, I ...
Thanks for your question -Breast capsules are a normal part of healing after breast implant surgery. The formation starts in the first week or two and matures after about 12 weeks. Capsular contracture, which is a dense, calcified or painful capsule, is not considered normal in breast a...
Thank you for your question. You are still in the early postop period at 6 weeks. I agree with my colleague below that the pocket dissection done at the time of surgery really has a lot to do with lateral malposition of an implant if that is a concern. I also believe that when patient...
