Yes, scar tissue can be present at any time after surgery. The best thing is that you seem to have consistency in where you have gotten mammograms which means they can follow changes over time. Mammograms can be safely and accurately performed after breast reduction surgery.  The surgery does cause scar tissue in the breast, so it is best to let the mammogram technician know this before the procedure.  It doesn't make the mammogram harder to read, just different!  In fact, most women after breast reduction, state that the mammograms are easier because of the removal of so much breast tissue that was interferring with the mammogram.
