If your primary care doctor will not give you a referral to see a plastic surgeon there are a couple options to try:Call your insurance company to see if they require a referral for a specialist visit. If they do not, then you can call a plastic surgeon in your area and schedule a consultation. Are you required to have a referral to see a plastic surgeon? If not, see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to evaluate your options. If you need a referral try to see another physician who may be more sympathetic to your situation. Good luck.

Thank you for your question.  It sounds like you are a reasonable candidate for a breast reduction.  Discuss this matter again with your parents and your primary care physician.  Another option to consider is to schedule a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon.  As long as your insurance coverage does not exclude breast reduction, the process can be initiated by a surgeon and does not need approval by your primary physician.  Primary physician support is helpful but not completely necessary.  Best wishes.
