Scheduled for Halo/BBL skin reacting to Alastin pre-procedure prep, are there alternatives?

I’m scheduled for my first halo/bbl this week but the pre-procedure Alastin Kit has made my skin turn rough/scaly. He won’t do it if my skin is inflamed (which is good) but wondering if this has happened to others and what some alternatives would be.

I’ve been using the non invasive kit with my halo, halo/bbl and vivace treatments for the last several years. None of my patients have had issues with the nectar. In that kit, however, is a face wash which can be a bit drying. This may be more of the issue than anything if you are using too much or too often and your skin is sensitive. This being said, for me, the kit is entirely voluntary. It improves results and lessens the downtime slightly but it is not necessary to get the results halo/bbl will provide. Gentle face wash with cetaphil, o Cera ve cream and good hydration (drink water) is sufficient hope this helps.

Reactions happen some times to different products before and after lasers. Back off product for a few days and maybe use some over the counter hydrocortisone cream for a day. Usually fixes things

Stop the products, see a dermatologist and have anti- inflammatories orally and topically before lasers. Diagnose your skin condition BEFORE treatment. HALO is an excellent laser, however unless it is a vascular laser, many rejuvenation lasers can makes some pre existing skin conditions worse, the most common is ROSACEA. Dr Davin S Lim
