I have just finished a year course of Accutane, how long till I can use a topical retinol? or other treatments like lasers and micro needling for remaining scars?

Accutane is a go-to medication for patients with recalcitrant cystic acne. It can reduce pore size and also reduce sebum production in your skin, making it less oily; and in turn, dryer. Accutane can be used to control acne, but patients receiving the medication should be carefully monitored. In terms of skincare, always wear an appropriate sunscreen and reduce direct sun exposure. In my patients, I recommend a good ceramide moisturizer such as Elevase whenever they are on Accutane. This will keep the skin hydrated and reduce the oiliness of the skin that is associated with oil-based moisturizers.

The more Accutane you take, the better the chance of cure. glad it was successful for you Unfortunately, side effects are also dose dependent. If you used it for 1 year I think the dose you use is significant while at the lowest doses there are almost no side effects. At the highest level, everyone has pretty bad side effects related to the drying effects on the sebaceous glands. In order to establish a balance between effectiveness and side effects, it is necessary to wait 6 months after the use of the drug and then have laser epilation.
