Hi I’m a 34 year old female i started taking accutane December of 2023 at 40mg then around march was prescribed 60mg now I’m currently on 80 mg, at my pharmacy I was told that accutane won’t be available for at least 2 weeks I was wondering if this will impact my progress and when I do get back to taking it will I have 2reduce my dose? Or continue with 80mg. thank you.

Missing Accutane (isotretinoin) for two weeks may have a slight impact on your treatment progress, but the extent depends on factors such as your treatment stage and skin condition. Accutane reduces oil production and promotes skin cell turnover, so a break can temporarily increase oiliness and breakouts.

However, two weeks is relatively short in the context of a typical Accutane course, which lasts several months, and is unlikely to significantly derail your progress.
