I had a 4mm wide BCC removed 3 months ago-excised with clean margins, hopefully! Ever since my eye is dry. Saw an opthamologist because it is so severe, tear duct is intact, she feels it's more related to prior LASIK surgery. I don't agree. My eye was one hundred percent normal before. Will it ever get better? I am seeking a second opinion from another opthamologist. My surgeon feels that my tear duct angle may be slightly altered, but he feels my dry eye shouldn't be as bad as it is.

The goal in my practice is to remove BCC's in 4 weeks but I can wait up to 2-3 months in some cases if the patient is away out of town. SCC's are removed within 2-4 weeks and melanoma are excised within 1 week. BCC's are slow to move and most of my patients have had them from 2 months to 5 years...
No, there are no medical insurances that will cover a revision for a scar that comes from a medical procedure to remove cancer. The cancer procedure itself will be covered, but a 'cosmetic' procedure for scarring afterwards is never covered. "This
