Which laser for eyebrow tattoo removal? (Photo)

Question

I microbladed my eyebrows ~6 months ago, and it’s been a huge regret. She used a dark brown permanent ink, and I fear she may have bladed all the way into my dermis layer because it was so painful. I immediately went to a place that does phiremoval. I completed 2 sessions, which has helped remove quite a bit of ink, but I haven’t returned because I am worried about scarring. Should I continue with phiremoval or is picosure a better choice? I don’t want to lose my actual brow hairs.

This can be removed with laser tattoo removal. Tattoos should be removed with q switched or pico lasers. We use the pfd patch to help speed up the process. It will take a series of treatments. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a laser tattoo removal expert. Best, Dr. Emer

The piccoway and picosure lasers are good treatments. A q-switched ND:YAG is also an option and works with all skin types. It may take 6 or more treatments.

Hello, thank you for your question and for including photos.  The latest technology in laser tattoo removal is the pico-second technology. The PicoWay Laser (Candela/Syneron) uses photoacoustic
impact/pressure waves rather than photothermal/heat.  This process has less heat, therefore it is
more comfortable and the chances of hyperpigmentation are less.  The Pico-second pulse shatters the ink into
even smaller particles, allowing the body to more easily absorb the ink.   This type of device can usually remove unwanted ink in about half as many treatments as the traditional Q-switch devices.  Although the pigment in the hair follicles is not the target, the laser may effect a few of the hair follicles, it is impossible to guarantee that it will not.  As with all lasers, it will take multiple treatments. Time between treatments is also important as it takes time for your body to absorb the ink particles.
