This is a common problem that Plastic Surgeons are well versed in correction. A scar revision with or without correction of any underlying muscle injury can be done as an office procedure in most cases.

Firmness can be normal after lip reduction surgery in the early stages.  However, the lips should soften up relatively soon.  At 40 days post procedure, you should investigate this with your surgeon.
