When will my bond wires be removed?

After Invisalign treatment, the orthodontist placed bond wires on my lower teeth. I've had them for nearly 4 years. When will I take them off. My orthodontist never said that they were to be placed permanently. He told me nothing.

Hello Michael,I'm sorry that it wasn't effectively communicated to you that your bond wires are permanent and were likely placed to remain on your teeth indefinitely.  The bond wire that you are referring to is what most dentist refer to as a permanent retainer.  If you don't like it, which it sounds like you don't, you could have it removed, and get a clear aligner that you will need to wear at bedtime every night.  This would prevent your teeth from relapsing.Ultimately, you should make a decision that is most conducive to your lifestyle and interpersonal relationship(s).
