In younger patients is Sculptra optimal result sooner? I'm 30 years old and had my first ever treatment of Sculptra.

He injected 1 vial through cheeks and ns folds. I loved the swelling but of course I know that goes away due to it being water swelling in the beginning. Will my optimal result be as nice as the swelling was? Also I've been getting Radiesse in the folds for last 4 years. Will my results come in sooner based on my age? Would having another vial help it come sooner also?

Sculptra is one of my favorite products for my younger patients!  When injected properly, it can provide subtle and natural enhancement by stimulating the body's natural collagen production to lift and contour the face.  I often find that younger patients with healthy skin often get a better result with Sculptra, and start to notice a difference sooner than more mature patients.  The initial results of your Sculptra injections should be visible in 6-8 weeks, and will continue to improve for up to 3-4 months after your treatment.  In general, I find that most patients need 2-3 treatment sessions, with 1-2 vials injected at each session - a good rule of thumb is 1 vial of Sculptra for every decade of age.  However, every patient is unique, and it's difficult to say how many vials or how many treatments you will need without assessing you in person.  I would recommend that you follow-up with your physician in about 6-8 weeks to review your before and after photos and discuss your future treatment plans.  Best of luck!

Younger patients have even faster results than older patients with Sculptra injections.  If you are younger you may see results more quickly and have longer lasting results.  It usually takes two to three sessions depending on your age and how much volume you would like to have to see the best results. Without seeing and feeling your skin, it is difficult to say how many vials of Sculptra you will require. Treatments are done about 6 to 8 weeks apart and it can take several months to see the result.  A younger person will need fewer vials and will probably see results more quickly than an older person.

Sculptra ( injectable poly-L-lactic acid PLLA) is my favorite collagen stimulator because of its natural look. Given that you are in your 30s, I would predict that to achieve full correction, you will need a total of 3-4 vials spread over the course of treatment. With younger patients, I like doing 1 vial per session as well because I have been surprised by the differences in collagen stimulation on each patient. There are times where if you do 2 vials, you can over-correct and the results are not as aesthetically pleasant in the long run. Normally it takes the body anywhere between 3-6 wks to mount of inflammatory response to stimulate your collagen production. Things that work against you may be if you are a smoker, heavy alcohol drinker, are on any medications that decrease your immune system and so forth. Don't forget to address your temples, as this is an area which sculptra provides an elegant look.

Sculptra works by stimulating collagen with the PMMA particles. This takes about 3 months to see the full results. One vial is usually not sufficient to see significant results. It usually takes about 1 vial per decade to get correction. I do believe that a younger client will stimulate a bit more collagen than an older one, but it real boils down to is what condition your skin is in, if you smoke, ongoing medical problems, immune suppressants, how much sun damage there is, as to the collagen response.
