Is it safe to get Sculptra after butt implants?

Question

Hello. I am a thin patient who works out regularly and had buttock implants placed beneath the muscle 2 years ago. The results look very unnatural and the implants sit too high. I'm also not a candidate for fat transfer. Is it safe to have sculptra injected even with the implants? Are there any risk of infection/clotting and will the sculptra interfere with the implant in any way?

Thank you for your question. I would not advise using Sculptra for this indication. You will end up spending a large amount of money and the results will likely be underwhelming. In addition, you risk causing additional problems and possibly contaminating the implants. I would discuss other options with your board certified plastic surgeon.Best of luck!

Instead of wasting your money on Sculptra, which will NOT produce the effects you are hoping for and may even contaminate the implant, I would strongly suggest revisiting your plastic surgeon for removal and revision of your current buttock implants -  possibly with a different size and/or shape implant.  If your chemistry is not good with your plastic surgeon and/or you feel you have lost the trust then I'd recommend getting a second opinion from another plastic surgeon who is a specialist in buttock implants. Hope i have at least saved you money as well potential complications.

I do not think injecting sculptra in the buttocks is really worth it. It requires a lot of volume to get the results, which costs a lot of money,, and it does not last long term.
