Alternative treatments to Botox while breastfeedng for line in between my eyebrows? (Photo)

I am breatfeeding my one year old and I really would like to get Botox but I know it is-contraindicated while breastfeeding along with most dermal fillers. I have a fine line in the middle of my forehead and it's driving me nuts and I need to do something. Are there any options for me besides topical creams? What about the procedure where they take your blood and then re Inject it back somehow? I don't know if they mix it with something but all I know is I have to do something! TIA!

You are correct when you indicate that Botox is not recommended for use in someone who is breast-feeding.  Dermal fillers that are hyaluronic acid basedAre not specifically recommended for use during breast-feeding but, is these products are made of the compound found naturally in your body, some physicians may consider injecting HA fillers.  This would be a decision made by your physician.  There are also procedures that use either focused cold therapy or radiofrequency treatments to prevent the muscles from squeezing.  These are new or treatments which are performed by fewer physicians but may be a viable alternative for you.  I would carefully discussed the risks and benefits of any treatment before moving forward.

question. There are no topical creams that fill lines. Your safest and most
effective procedure is autologous fat transfer, which is harvested from your
thigh and then reinjected into the depressions in between your eyebrows. The

during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

I
feel your angst! Unfortunately, while the side-effects or complications of
injection of muscle relaxers, fillers or the use of retinoids are rare, they do
occur and it would be devastating for you to have such an event.

The
use of fibrin as filler injections has been less than overwhelming. But, it too
in this area could have negative consequences if not performed by a well
experienced injector.

For
the time being, try a professional cosmetologist or professional make-up artist.

Sorry
for your disappointment! But, congratulations on your wonderful accomplishment
(apparently, a healthy child) and a beautiful face.

is the procedure which uses your own blood centrifuged in a base to reinject.  It is mixed and, therefore, would not be recommended for you while breastfeeding.  I would encourage you to wait until you have finished breast feeding and then Botox (or fill) away.

There are people who extract blood, separate components of the blood and re-inject them.One such procedure is referred to as the vampire lift.They seem to gain notoriety in the media, but I know of no one in my immediate plastic surgery community who performs these procedures.There's probably a good reason that we don't.The guidelines of avoiding these treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding are based on extremely conservative criteria.While few, if any, doctors would recommend having these treatments during breastfeeding, they are still most likely completely safe.One alternative is fat transfer.My experience is that fillers work much better for specific small area corrections such as what you describe.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
