Thank you for your question about broad band light therapy. BBL/IPL treatments are safe during breastfeeding. However, our office recommend several different skin care products to our patients post treatment and not all of these products are safe while breastfeeding. To be sure, see two or more experienced, licensed and board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.
Hi There!BBL per se is totally safe during breastfeeding. However depending on your skin color your physician may recommend pre treating with hydroquinone. This isn't a good option while breastfeeding. It doesn't enter the breast milk to a significant degree but it's classification would make most physicians hesitant about prescribing it. Also, in our office, we like our patients to be as comfortable as possible so we offer numbing cream prior to the procedure. This wouldn't be a good idea while breastfeeding either. So, in summary, if you don't need pretreatment with hydroquinone and you have a reasonable pain tolerance you should be fine to proceed.Lastly, for most of your issues - you might want to consider a Sciton HALO laser treatment initially instead (pores, acne scarring etc)Good Luck with your decision!!

Halo for sure. Usually patients need a series of treatments to get the best results on fine lines, texture and sun damage. 4 days of flaky and red skin is expected afterwards. Ken Oleszek, MDLa Fontaine AestheticsDenver, Colorado
