I am a week post Infini treatment but I still have machine scarring! When will it go away? (photo)

I did Infini RF treatment a week ago. My skin smoothed out but I still have scarring in the locations the machine was on. Looks like a I track marks on my skin. How long before this goes away? Or is this hyperpigmentation that I am stuck with?? Thank you!

Infini will cause redness initially because of the trauma of the procedure. The infini device uses 49 needles that are used to punch stamp various levels of the dermis causing heat coagulation. This heat damage then stimulates new collagen formation. Don't be alarmed, this redness will be gone in 2 weeks.

First off, this is not scarring. Grid marks can last up to about 1 month. If there is darkening of the skin, particularly in darker skin patients, hydroquinone should be used. I don't usually prescribe this unless there is a concern. Infini is very safe in darker skin patients and is extremely good for acne scars in darker skin types.

Your photo looks like what I would expect for one week post treatment. You are still early in the healing phase. It may take 2 - 3 weeks post treatment for the needle marks to be completely gone. I recommend a series of 3 treatments at 4-6 week intervals for optimal treatment of acne scars.

This is a common post treatment occurrence especially on darker skin types. The track marks should gradually fade after 4-6 weeks time. In the meantime, you could be treated with the Spectra laser to encourage the exfoliation process.
