Pain after a facelift can on occasion be greater one side of the face than the other. However, marked swelling in addition to that could indicate a collection of fluid or blood that may require drainage. Swelling with redness could also indicate an early infection. Best to be evaluated by your surgeon to evaluate it.

following a facelift are not unusual but you should keep your surgeon in the loop as to what your concerns are.  Some doctors use sutures in that area that can cause such pains.  Your surgeon is best prepared to let you know what is happening since your surgeon was there at the time of your procedure.

Tightness or aching along the jawline is common with lower face lifting. If the symptom is increasing, or accompanied by increasing swelling or fever, that would need an in-person exam.
