Has anyone given Botox to an immunotherapy patient or know of a study?

I have gotten Botox in my forehead for nearly 20 years. Since I was 27! I was recently diagnosed with Stage 3A nodular melanoma. I have had 4 treatments of Opdivo so far and no side effects. I have 8 more to go. I asked my oncologist about getting Botox and he said that because he was not aware of any studies on it, that he says do not do it. Are any doctors on here aware of any studies with Botox and immunotherapy treatments? Having cancer is depressing enough, then I look in the mirror and just want to cry.

in my practice we do treatments on patients who are going through cancer. I get that not studies have been done and my patients sign waivers, but we feel its better to feel good about yourself during this rough time. we have a lot of suggestions for skincare (faith cosmetics, restorsea, sente, and EMK are all good lines to use when going through chemo/immunotherapy -- see link to emeragecosmetics.com where we do free skincare consults daily).  I do not feel it affects what is going on internally but that again will be a conversation you have to have with your physician. Hello and thank you for your question. In general Botox can be administered to patients with cancer and getting immunotherapy. I don’t suggest it if you’re getting chemo and your platelet count is low. I wish you the best.Dr. T
