Great question! One treatment of BBL alone is not likely to clear all freckles or sun damage. A minimum of 3-5 treatment would be needed, depending on the severity. A combination of BBL/HALO will give you better results. However, maintenance treatments with BBL 2-3 times a year will be needed to help maintain your results. As well as a home routine to compliment the treatments. Such as a topical Vitamin C, physical sunscreen and a retinol. You may also add a bleaching agent (hydroquinone, kojic acid) to improve results further. Prolonged sun exposure will cause some of the pigment to resurface. With compliance and maintenance you should continue to see your desired results.Hope this helps!
Yes freckles can come back after a BBL treatment with sun exposure. It is important to protect your investment and practice safe sun habits every single day for prevention. We do recommend this treatment every 6 months for maintenance as well.
yes freckles always come back and sundamage needs to be mainttained with regular treatmentts every 3-4 months. at th ome peels like cosmelan and enlighten and now my new AERIFY which benefits BLM and LGBT non for profit groups (see emeragecosmetics.com for skincare options) can help maintain the results. Yes, freckles will come back after a broad band light treatment. Once you get a little sun exposure, they will return. If you don't want them to return, be very vigilant with sun protection.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation SpecialistQuintessa
Hi and thanks for your question!Freckles are actually sun damage to your skin. BBL is a great option to remove all forms of sun damage, including freckles. However, even with consistent and daily use of SPF (which I strongly recommend), freckles can return. This is why it is best to have follow up treatments with BBL a few times a year to remove new sun spots.Hope this helps!
