In order to make sure the color has stabilized after a whitening procedure, I would wait two to three weeks before doing any bonding. Long term, just keep in mind that you should use a whitening toothpaste at least part of the time and that your whitening should be touched up about once a year.
Hi:It's best to wait 3-7 days for the whitening to stabilize before you get any bonding procedure on your front teeth.Best,Dr. Maddahi
Dear citychicks, I'm probably the wrong person to ask about Zoom whitening because I hate the procedure. My experience with power bleaching is that it fades in a couple of weeks. Here in Chicago the dentists who provide Zoom whitening also provide at home whitening trays because it's the at home system that is long lasting. That said, after whitening you need to wait two weeks before any final cosmetic procedures because of the rebound effect. Any whitening procedure will dehydrate the surface of the tooth which interferes with the penetration and reflection of light. Immediately following whitening the teeth reflect too much white light making the teeth appear ultra white. As the teeth rehydrate over a two week period light is allowed to be absorbed by the teeth and the color will darken slightly, moreso with Zoom.
