Hello. What happens if you lose weight after smart lipo (for the entire abdomen)? I am considering the procedure but wondering what would happen if this occurs because my weight does fluctuate. Thank you.
Answer: Depends on Amount of Weight Loss Having liposuction in the appropriate candidate can greatly improve the shape of the abdomen, flanks and torso. However, if you lose additional weight following your liposuction procedure, it is possible for the skin to sag slightly more which can compromise your result. In general, normal fluctuations in weight, meaning 10-15lbs, will not affect this. Larger weight gain or loss, on the level of 50-60lbs, may compromise your result with additional loose skin.

Answer: Weight management after Lipo If you gain weight, it will be very difficult for it to come back to the area of liposuction because there are fewer fat cells to enlarge. However, the weight can show up in untreated areas of the body or in your visceral area bellow the abdominal wall. I try to avoid liposuction in patients with a history of 20# weight swings and highly recommend attempting to stay at least weight-neutral moving forward after surgery. Weight management and lifestyle changes needs a part of the commitment.

Typically after abdominal liposuction individuals who gained weight will often see increase in intra-abdominal fed call center of domino Garth to the increase in size, even though subcutaneous, fat layers typically thicken less Patience, often appreciate Liposuction resolves more if they have success for weight loss after the procedure Delivering consistent quality, liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. There is major variation in outcome from the procedure based on the provider selection. Liposuction results are permanent and irreversible. If done, poorly people can be left disfigured. The importance of finding the right provider cannot be overstated. To find the best provider I suggest patients have multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in their community. There are only two variables that determine what liposuction results will look like. Those two variables are patient, candidacy and surgeon skilled. Finding the best provider is best done by having multiple in person consultations. This is also the best way to get an assessment and understanding of your own candidacy for the procedure. Individuals or excellent candidates, for Liposuction have the potential for having excellent outcomes, if the procedure is done by a sufficiently talented provider. The same individuals also have the potential of having undesirable outcomes if the selection process of finding the best provider is insufficient. Individuals who are not good candidates for Liposuction do not carry the potential of having great liposuction results regardless of who does the procedure. In order to have realistic expectations of what the procedure can, and cannot accomplish patients need to understand their own candidacy for Liposuction. There isn’t much patience can do about around candidacy, but patients do have full control over choosing the right provider. I recommend patients having at least five in person, consultations and consider scheduling more before committing to having permanent body changing procedures. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures, especially of patients who have similar body characteristics to your own. For reference an experience provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before, and after pictures of commonly performed procedures like liposuction. Continue having consultations until you feel very comfortable. You found the best provider. You’ll be reminded of the outcome every day for the rest of your life. Choose carefully.
